Emergency access will always be maintained. In the event of an emergency, all emergency services (i.e. police, fire, ambulance) will be able to access all properties and businesses within the road closures.

A number of local bus routes will have diversions in place across the weekend. Notification signs, with details of temporary bus stop locations, will be placed on existing bus stops in the lead-up to the event.

Parking for residents and visitors will be restricted on sections of road that are closed for the safety of runners.

Ample parking for runners is available in Ballarat’s CBD. There are many on-street car parking spaces, but please ensure parking restrictions are observed. In addition, the CARePARK multi-storey carpark at 25 Doveton St in central Ballarat, only a short walk from the start-finish, is offering extended hours across the Ballarat Marathon weekend. Pedestrian access to shops along the course will be maintained at all times. There will be frequent pedestrian crossing points and opportunities.

The Ballarat Marathon road running festival is designed to showcase everything that’s great about Ballarat. We would love you to cheer on the runners and encourage your fellow community members to do the same. Everyone is welcome to be part of this event, whether by running, walking, wheeling, volunteering or helping build the atmosphere.
