  • To assist you in achieving your marathon goals we have a team of pacers who will run at an even effort/pace. The pacers are like on-course coaches, encouraging you and other runners along the way. Each pacer will be easily identifiable. They will each be carrying a flag that clearly displays their target finish time.

All pacers will run to ‘chip time’ and pace as evenly as possible without banking time (+/- 30 seconds at halfway and within 30 seconds under the target time at the finish). There are two pacers on each time who will run in eyesight of each other creating a pace zone. This means that you will not need to crowd around a single pacer.

There will be pacers for the following times:

    • 2hrs 20mins

    • 2hrs 30mins

    • 2hrs 40mins

    • 2hrs 50mins

Eligible Marathon runners are able to drop personal drinks at each drink station.

You must have a target-time of:

    • Men: 2hrs 45mins or less

    • Women: 3hrs 30mins or less

We will ask for proof via recent results/training records.

    Drop off process:

You must drop your drinks to CIVIC HALL (Registration) BEFORE 5:30PM Saturday. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Bottles clearly labelled with your NAME & BIB Number. Ensure they do not leak. Do not attach sharp items/sticks.

Where will I find my drink at each drink station?

On approach, you will find all drink stations will have electrolyte and water offering THEN two final tables for personal drinks:

    • Table 1: Plain trestle table with personal drinks laid out in bib order (low numbers at front of table, higher numbers at back of table).

    • Table 2: trestle table with black table cloth for ELITE drinks.

  • Ballarat is a beautiful city and we want to ensure it stays that way.

Please help our wonderful Volunteers and Crew by discarding all waste in the bins provided in the designated litter zones at each Drink Station.

PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE WITH GEL TOPS.
