FURTHER INFORMATION 2025
-
The cut-off time for the City of Ballarat Half Marathon is six hours. Adherence to these cut-off times will ensure roads can be reopened in accordance with our event permits. Cut-off times are based on chip-time start not gun-time.
-
Water and electrolyte drink will be available at each of our drink stations. There are toilets at each drink station.
-
More information on drink station locations will be available closer to the event.
-
To assist you in achieving your marathon goals we will have a team of pacers. A pacer is an experienced marathon runner who will run at an even effort/pace for the duration of the event to finish at a target time and encourage you and other runners along the way. Each pacer will be easily identifiable in a white Ballarat Marathon singlet with PACE TEAM written across the back in yellow. They will each be carrying a flag that clearly displays their target finish time.
All pacers will run to ‘chip time’ and pace as evenly as possible without banking time (+/- 30 seconds at halfway and within 30 seconds under the target time at the finish). There is one pacer on each time but they will be running close to two full marathon pacers who are pacing at the same speed.
There will be pacers in the half marathon for the following times:1hrs 30mins
1hrs 40mins
1hrs 50mins
2hrs
2hrs 10mins
2hrs 20mins
2hrs 30mins
All courses are certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) and measured to World Athletics Standards.
*Courses & Schedules are subject to change and improvement.
